حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: " كُنَّا نُؤَدِّي صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ،، صَاعًا مِنْ زَبِيبٍ، صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُعَاوِيَةُ، جَاءَتِ السَّمْرَاءُ، فَرَأَى أَنَّ مُدًّا يَعْدِلُ مُدَّيْنِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), one sa’ of dates or barley, cheese or raisins used to be given as Sadaqat al-Fitr. Then, during the era of Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), wheat became available and his opinion was that its one mudd is equal to two (other items).
