حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: " جُلِدَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْخَمْرِ بِنَعْلَيْنِ أَرْبَعِينَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ زَمَنُ عُمَرَ جُلِدَ (١) بَدَلَ كُلِّ نَعْلٍ سَوْطًا " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), the punishment for drinking alcohol was forty lashes with shoes, then during the time of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), whips were prescribed instead of shoes.
