حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، وَعَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ،، ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا يَحْقِرَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ نَفْسَهُ إِذَا رَأَى أَمْرًا لِلَّهِ فِيهِ مَقَالٌ أَنْ يَقُولَ فِيهِ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ: مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَقُولَ فِيهِ؟ فَيَقُولُ (١) : رَبِّ خَشِيتُ النَّاسَ، قَالَ: فَأَنَا أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْشَى " وَقَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ: - يَعْنِي فِي الْحَدِيثِ -: " وَإِنِّي كُنْتُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخَافَنِي (٢) " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: None of you should consider himself so insignificant that he withholds saying a word for the sake of Allah’s pleasure when he has the right to say it. For Allah will ask him: What prevented you from saying that word? The servant will say: My Lord! I was afraid of the people. Allah will say: I was more deserving that you should fear Me.
