حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ فِرَاسٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللهِ شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبَ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا، وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا، وَمَنْ أَتَاهُ يَمْشِي أَتَاهُ اللهُ هَرْوَلَةً (٢) " (٣)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever comes closer to Allah by a handspan, Allah comes closer to him by a cubit; and whoever comes closer to Allah by a cubit, Allah comes closer to him by a fathom; and whoever comes to Allah walking, Allah comes to him running.
