حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، أَوْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ - مَعْمَرٌ شَكَّ (٢) - عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: " مُؤْمِنٌ مُجَاهِدٌ بِنَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ " قَالَ: ثُمَّ مَنْ، قَالَ: " ثُمَّ رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي شِعْبٍ مِنَ الشِّعَابِ، يَعْبُدُ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَيَدَعُ النَّاسَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a person asked the Prophet (ﷺ), "Who is the best among the people?" The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, "The believer who strives in the way of Allah with his life and wealth." The questioner asked, "Who is after him?" He replied, "The believer who lives in seclusion in any locality, fears Allah, and keeps people safe from his harm."
