Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: رَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا، فَقَالَ: " تَقَدَّمُوا فَائْتَمُّوا بِي، وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ، لَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (ﷺ) saw the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) staying behind, so the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "You should come forward and follow me in prayer; those behind will follow you. For people will continue to stay behind until Allah will put them at the back on the Day of Resurrection."
