حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، سَمِعَ عَمْرًا، عَنْ عَتَّابِ (١) بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ: لَا أَدْرِي مَنْ عَتَّابٌ -: " لَوْ أَمْسَكَ اللهُ الْقَطْرَ عَنِ النَّاسِ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ، ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَهُ لَأَصْبَحَتْ طَائِفَةٌ بِهِ كَافِرِينَ، يَقُولُونَ: مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ الْمِجْدَحِ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: If Allah Almighty withholds rain from the people for seven years, then when He sends down rain, even at that time a group of people, being ungrateful, will say: "It rained upon us due to the influence of the star Mujdah."
