حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَا يَمْنَعَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ هَيْبَةُ النَّاسِ أَنْ يَقُولَ فِي حَقٍّ إِذَا رَآهُ، أَوْ شَهِدَهُ أَوْ سَمِعَهُ " قَالَ: وَقَالَ (١) أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ (٢)، ،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The awe and fear of people should not prevent any of you from speaking the truth when he sees it, witnesses it, or hears it." Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "I wish I had not heard this hadith."
