حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بْنَ الْأَصَمِّ، يَقُولُ: قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: حَدِيثٌ لَا أَحْسِبُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " لَيْسَ الْغِنَى عَنْ كَثْرَةِ الْعَرَضِ، وَلَكِنَّ الْغِنَى غِنَى النَّفْسِ، وَاللهِ مَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْفَقْرَ، وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ التَّكَاثُرَ، وَمَا أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْخَطَأَ (١) وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَمْدَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Wealth is not in the abundance of possessions; true wealth is the wealth of the heart. By Allah! I do not fear poverty for you, rather I fear abundance of wealth for you. And I do not fear mistakes for you, rather I fear that you will knowingly become involved in sins.
