حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ (١) ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، وَعَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْنِي هِشَامٌ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رَفَعَهُ قَالَ: عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " وَيْلٌ لِلْأُمَنَاءِ (٢) وَيْلٌ لِلْوُزَرَاءِ لَيَتَمَنَّيَنَّ (٣) أَقْوَامٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنَّ ذَوَائِبَهُمْ كَانَتْ مُعَلَّقَةً بِالثُّرَيَّا، يَتَذَبْذَبُونَ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ، وَأَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَلُوا عَمَلًا " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Destruction is for the rulers, chiefs, and government officials. On the Day of Resurrection, these people will wish that their forelocks were hanging from the star Thurayya and that they were suspended between the sky and the earth, but had not taken up responsibility.
