سَمِعْتُ (٢) إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ، يَقُولُ: أَشْهَدُ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ أَنِّي سَأَلْتُهُ، أَوْ سُئِلَ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ، فَقَالَ: " كُلْ تَمْرًا، وَاشْرَبْ مَاءً، يَصِيرُ فِي بَطْنِكَ نَبِيذًا " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
Ibrahim bin Sa’d, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I bear witness regarding Sufyan Thawri, may Allah have mercy on him, that either I or someone else asked him about nabidh. He replied: Eat dates and then drink water over it; when it enters the stomach, it will itself become nabidh.
