حَدَّثَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ شَاةً، طُبِخَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَعْطِنِي الذِّرَاعَ " فَنَاوَلَهَا إِيَّاهُ، فَقَالَ: " أَعْطِنِي الذِّرَاعَ " فَنَاوَلَهَا إِيَّاهُ،، ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " أَعْطِنِي الذِّرَاعَ " فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّمَا لِلشَّاةِ ذِرَاعَانِ قَالَ: " أَمَا إِنَّكَ لَوِ الْتَمَسْتَهَا لَوَجَدْتَهَا " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once goat meat was cooked. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Give me a foreleg." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was given a foreleg, which he ate. After that, he said, "Give me another foreleg." That too was given to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he ate it as well. Then he said, "Give me another foreleg." Someone said, "O Messenger of Allah! A goat has only two forelegs." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "If you had searched, you would have found it."
