حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا جُهَيْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعَبْدِيُّ، عَنْ خِدَاشِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ فِي حَلْقَةٍ بِالْكُوفَةِ، فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يُحَدِّثُ، قَالَ: كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ شَهِدَ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ شَهَادَةً لَيْسَ لَهَا بِأَهْلٍ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
Khudash bin ‘Ayyash, may Allah have mercy on him, says that we were sitting in a study circle in Kufa where a man was narrating hadiths. He said that we were sitting with Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, and he said: I heard the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Whoever gives testimony concerning a Muslim for something he is not entitled to, then he should prepare his abode in Hell.
