Musnad Ahmad Hadith 10615

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When Allah loves a servant, He says to Jibreel (peace be upon him): "I love such-and-such a person, so you also love him." Thus, Jibreel begins to love him. Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) announces to the inhabitants of the heavens: "Your Lord loves such-and-such a person, so you also love him." Consequently, all the inhabitants of the heavens begin to love him, and then acceptance for him is placed among the people of the earth. And when Allah dislikes a servant, He also calls Jibreel (peace be upon him) and says: "O Jibreel! I dislike such-and-such a person, so you also dislike him." And Jibreel (peace be upon him) announces to the inhabitants of the heavens: "Your Lord dislikes such-and-such a person, so you also dislike him." Thus, all the inhabitants of the heavens begin to dislike him, and then this dislike is placed in the hearts of the people of the earth.
