حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ،، ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَنْ أَدْخَلَ فَرَسًا بَيْنَ فَرَسَيْنِ، وَهُوَ لَا يَأْمَنُ أَنْ يَسْبِقَ، فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ، وَمَنْ أَدْخَلَ فَرَسًا بَيْنَ فَرَسَيْنِ، وَقَدْ أَمِنَ أَنْ يَسْبِقَ، فَهُوَ قِمَارٌ " (١)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever includes a horse between two horses in a race, about which it is not certain that it will advance, then there is no harm in it. But whoever includes such a horse about which it is certain that it will advance (and win), then this is gambling.
