حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: أَوْصَانِي خَلِيلِي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ: " أَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ، وَصَوْمِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have been advised regarding three things which I will never abandon whether I am traveling or at home: (1) to perform the Witr prayer before sleeping, (2) to fast three days in every month, (3) to offer two rak'ahs of Duha (forenoon) prayer. Later, Hasan began to mention "the Friday bath" in its place.
