حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ شَابٌّ يَمْشِي فِي حُلَّةٍ يَتَبَخْتَرُ فِيهَا مُسْبِلًا إِزَارَهُ بَلَعَتْهُ الْأَرْضُ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: A man, dressed in a precious cloak, was walking arrogantly, boasting about himself, when Allah caused the earth to swallow him up, and he will continue to sink into the earth until the Day of Resurrection.
