حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَشْعَرُ كَلِمَةٍ قَالَتْهَا الْعَرَبُ كَلِمَةُ لَبِيدٍ:، [البحر الطويل]، أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللهَ بَاطِلُ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The truest verse ever spoken by a poet is the verse of Labid: "Behold! Everything except Allah is false (perishable)."
