La Hawla Wala Quwwata illa Billah also referred to as (Hawqala) in short is said when a Muslim is confronted with a disaster or finds himself in a position beyond his control, such as being oppressed or forced to endure, he can say this expression.
It is considered an acknowledgment that the person can not do anything without Allah’s help and support.
This phrase is recorded in over 10 narrations in various hadith books which mention Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) telling his followers to recite this dhikr daily.

It means “There is no power nor strength except with Allah”. It tells that Allah almighty is the only one with superior power and strength, and no one could have except Allah until Allah gives them.

Protection from Shaytan

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: When a man goes out of his house and says: “In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah; there is no might and no power but in Allah,” the following will be said to him at that time: “You are guided, defended and protected.” The devils will go far from him and another devil will say: How can you deal with a man who has been guided, defended, and protected? After praying
This phrase, along with others, was said by Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) immediately after each Salam prayer.
Before leaving the house
Another time to say this sentence is while you are leaving the house as it safeguards the house from hard and Shaytaan as it was mentioned in the previous hadith.
When the muadhdhin says “Hayya ‘ala’s-salaah (come to prayer)
