Original Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
أَشْعَرُ كَلِمَةٍ تَكَلَّمَتْ بِهَا الْعَرَبُ كَلِمَةُ لَبِيدٍ أَلاَ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلاَ اللَّهَ بَاطِلُ
. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ .
Translation
English translation
Narrated Abu Hurairah:
that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "The best statement spoken by the Arab is the saying of Labid: 'Everything aside from Allah perishes.'"
