Original Arabic

- وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏

‏ الرجل على دين خليله، فلينظر أحدكم من يخالل‏

‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه أبو داود، والترمذي بإسناد صحيح، وقال الترمذي‏:‏ حديث حسن‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

Translation

English translation

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Man follows his friend's religion, you should be careful who you take for friends". [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hadith Hasan].
