حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ: اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنْ شِئْتَ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا مُسْتَكْرِهَ لَهُ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَعْزِمْ فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: When any of you supplicates, he should not say, "O Allah, if You will, forgive me," but rather he should supplicate with determination and certainty, for there is no one who can compel Allah.
