حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَبَهْزٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ، وَإِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمًا صَائِمًا فَلَا يَرْفُثْ، وَلَا يَجْهَلْ، فَإِنْ أَحَدٌ شَتَمَهُ - أَوْ فَإِنْ امْرُؤٌ شَتَمَهُ - فَلْيَقُلْ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ "، قَالَ بَهْزٌ: " فَإِنْ امْرُؤٌ شَتَمَهُ، أَوْ قَاتَلَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ "، وَكَذَا قَالَ عَفَّانُ: " أَوْ قَاتَلَهُ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is observing a fast, he should neither indulge in indecent talk nor act ignorantly. If someone tries to fight or abuse him, he should simply say: I am fasting.
