حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ - قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ: مِنَ النَّخَعِ - قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي، وَلَا تَكْتَنُوا (٢) بِكُنْيَتِي "، " وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ الشِّكَالَ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ (٣) "، قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ: " يَعْنِي إِحْدَى، ، رِجْلَيْهِ سَوَادٌ أَوْ بَيَاضٌ "،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Name yourselves after me, but do not take my kunya (patronymic name) as your kunya." And the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) disliked a horse whose three legs were white and the fourth leg was of the same color as the rest of the body.
