حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ،، ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَرْبَعٌ فِي أُمَّتِي مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَنْ يَدَعُوهُنَّ: التَّطَاعُنُ فِي الْأَنْسَابِ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ، وَمُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، وَالْعَدْوَى: الرَّجُلُ يَشْتَرِي الْبَعِيرَ الْأَجْرَبَ، فَيَجْعَلُهُ فِي مِائَةِ بَعِيرٍ فَتَجْرَبُ، فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ؟ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: There are four things from the time of ignorance which my Ummah will never abandon: finding fault with lineage, wailing over the dead, attributing rain to the stars, and considering disease to be contagious. If a camel gets scabies and it infects a hundred camels, then who infected the first camel with scabies?
