حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ (٢) عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: " نُهِيَ عَنْ مَيَاثِرِ الْأُرْجُوَانِ، وَلُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ، وَخَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ " (٣)، ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِأَخِي يَحْيَى بْنِ سِيرِينَ فَقَالَ: أَوَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ هَذَا؟ نَعَمْ: " وَكِفَافِ الدِّيبَاجِ "، •
Translation
English translation
It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
Purple saddle cloths and wearing a blend of linen and silk and gold rings were forbidden, Muhammad said: I mentioned that to my brother Yahya bin Seereen and he said: Did you not hear this? Yes, and borders of silk brocade.
