حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدَ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يُخَيَّرُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهِ بَيْنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْفُجُورِ، فَلْيَخْتَرِ الْعَجْزَ عَلَى الْفُجُورِ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) saying: "A time will come upon you in which a person will be given the choice between helplessness and immorality; whoever reaches that time should choose helplessness over immorality and prefer it."
