حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي حَوْشَبُ بْنُ عَقِيلٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَهْدِيٌّ الْعَبْدِيُّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فِي بَيْتِهِ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ صَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ، فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I went to the house of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) to serve him. I asked him about the issue of fasting on the Day of Arafah in the plain of Arafat. He replied that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) forbade fasting on the Day of Arafah in the plain of Arafat.
