حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ خَالِهِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: " سَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْمُسْلِمُونَ فِي النَّجْمِ، إِلَّا رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، أَرَادَا بِذَلِكَ الشُّهْرَةَ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that upon the verse of prostration in Surah Najm, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and all the Muslims (in fact, all the polytheists) performed prostration, except for two men from the Quraysh among the polytheists who wanted to make themselves known.
