حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، وَيَزِيدُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، كَانَ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاةِ قَيْسٍ، وَكَانَ قَيْسٌ لَا يُطَوِّلُ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ أَوْ أَوْجَزُ "، وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ: أَوْ أَوْجَزُ (٢) ، حَدَّثَنَاهُ وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: نَعَمْ وَأَوْجَزُ (٣)،
Translation
English translation
Ismail narrates from his father that Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) used to lead them in prayer in Madinah like Qais, and Qais did not pray long prayers. I asked him, "Did the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) also pray like this?" He replied, "Yes! Rather, even shorter than this."
