حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَقَدْ (٤) هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَخَلَّفَ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَا، ، أَحْمِلُهُمْ، وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، ثُمَّ أَحْيَا، ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ، ثُمَّ أَحْيَا، ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: My heart desires that I should never remain behind any expedition sent out in the way of Allah, but I do not have enough means to provide mounts for all of them. I wish that I could fight in the way of Allah and attain martyrdom, then be granted life again, participate in jihad and be martyred, then participate in jihad and be martyred again.
