وَقَالَ: " إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ "، قَالُوا: فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَا مِثْلَكُمْ، إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي، فَاكْلَفُوا مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Protect yourselves from fasting continuously with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor)." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said this three times. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), you fast continuously in this manner." The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, "You are not like me in this matter. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds me and gives me drink. Therefore, do only as much as you are able to bear."
