حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا سَمِعَ الشَّيْطَانُ الْأَذَانَ وَلَّى وَلَهُ ضُرَاطٌ، حَتَّى لَا يَسْمَعَ الصَّوْتَ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated with the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: When Satan hears the call to prayer (adhan), he runs away loudly passing wind so that he does not hear the adhan.
