حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا، كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةٌ، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا، كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشْرُ (٤) أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى، ، سَبْعِ مِائَةٍ وَسَبْعِ أَمْثَالِهَا، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا، كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةٌ، وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا، لَمْ تُكْتَبْ (١) فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ عَلَيْهِ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا لَمْ تُكْتَبْ عَلَيْهِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: Whoever intends to do a good deed but is unable to act upon it, even then one good deed is written for him. And if he carries out that good deed, then for him ten to seven hundred times the reward is written. And if he is unable to act, then only one good deed is written. And if a person intends to commit a sin but does not act upon it, then that sin is not recorded in his book of deeds.
