حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " خَيْرُكُمْ قَرْنِي، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ - قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: لَا أَدْرِي أذَكَرَ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا - ثُمَّ يَخْلُفُ (٢) مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قَوْمٌ يُحِبُّونَ السِّمَانَةَ، ويَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ " (٣)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The best era of my Ummah is the one in which I was sent, then the era of those who come after them, then the era of those who come after them. (Now Allah knows best whether the Prophet (ﷺ) mentioned 'those who come after' twice or three times.) After that, there will come a people who will love obesity and will be ready to give testimony before it is even requested."
