حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، صَاحِبُ الزِّيَادِيِّ (٢) ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ، مِنْ أَهْلِ البَصْرَةِ (٣) ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَمُوتُ فَيَشْهَدُ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةُ أَهْلِ أَبْيَاتٍ مِنْ جِيرَانِهِ الْأَدْنَيْنَ بِخَيْرٍ، إِلَّا قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: قَدْ قَبِلْتُ شَهَادَةَ عِبَادِي عَلَى مَا عَلِمُوا، وَغَفَرْتُ لَهُ مَا أَعْلَمُ " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: If a Muslim servant passes away and three close neighbors testify to his goodness, Allah says: I have accepted the testimony of My servants according to their knowledge, and according to My knowledge, what I knew I have concealed and forgiven him.
