حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِتَمْرٍ مِنْ تَمْرِ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَأَمَرَ فِيهِ بِأَمْرٍ، فَحَمَلَ الْحَسَنَ أَوِ الْحُسَيْنَ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ، فَجَعَلَ لُعَابُهُ يَسِيلُ عَلَيْهِ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ يَلُوكُ تَمْرَةً، فَحَرَّكَ خَدَّهُ، وَقَالَ: " أَلْقِهَا يَا بُنَيَّ، أَلْقِهَا يَا بُنَيَّ، أَمَا شَعَرْتَ أَنَّ آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ لَا يَأْكُلُونَ الصَّدَقَةَ " (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that dates of charity were brought to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) gave a command regarding them, and seated either Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) or Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) on his shoulder. His saliva began to flow onto the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) looked up and saw a date in his mouth. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) put his hand in and took the date out of his mouth and said: Do you not know that the family of Muhammad (ﷺ) does not eat charity?
