حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ: أَنْصِتْ، فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ " (٢)،

Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said: When the Imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you say to your companion even this much, "Be quiet," then you have engaged in idle talk.
