حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَحَسَنٌ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِو يُونُسَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " وَيْلٌ لِلْعَرَبِ مِنْ شَرٍّ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ، فِتَنًا كَقِطَعِ اللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ، يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ مُؤْمِنًا، وَيُمْسِي كَافِرًا، يَبِيعُ قَوْمٌ دِينَهُمْ بِعَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا قَلِيلٍ، الْمُتَمَسِّكُ، ، يَوْمَئِذٍ بِدِينِهِ كَالْقَابِضِ عَلَى الْجَمْرِ - أَوْ قَالَ: عَلَى الشَّوْكِ - "، قَالَ حَسَنٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: " خَبَطِ (١) الشَّوْكِ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Destruction is for the Arabs because of those tribulations which are near, such tribulations that will be like the dark portions of the night. In that era, a person will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, or a believer in the evening and a disbeliever in the morning, and he will sell his religion for a small portion of worldly goods. And in that era, the one who remains steadfast on his religion will be like a person holding a burning ember in his hand.
