حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: أَتَى جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فقَالَ: " إِنِّي جِئْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ، فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي أَنْ أَدْخُلَ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ صُورَةٌ، أَوْ كَلْبٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) and said: I came to you last night, but something prevented me from entering your house; there was either a picture of a man in the house or a dog.
