Translation

English translation

It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The example of a miser and a spender is like that of two men who are wearing iron armor from their chest to their collarbone. Whenever the spender spends something, the armor expands in proportion to his spending and it opens up for him, while the miser’s armor becomes tighter and tighter. I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) further say that the miser tries to loosen it, but he is unable to do so.
