حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهْرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ، مَا تَقُولُونَ؟ هَلْ يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ؟ " قَالُوا: لَا يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ (٢) شَيْءٌ، قَالَ: " ذَاكَ مَثَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ، يَمْحُو اللهُ بِهَا (٣) الْخَطَايَا "، (٤)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: Tell me, if there were a river flowing at the door of one of your houses and he bathed in it five times a day, do you think any dirt would remain on his body? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: No dirt would remain. The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: The example of the five daily prayers is like this, through which Allah Almighty forgives sins.
