حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ يَتَقَاضَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعِيرًا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " الْتَمِسُوا لَهُ مِثْلَ سِنِّ بَعِيرِهِ "، قَالَ: فَالْتَمَسُوا لَهُ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا (٢) إِلَّا فَوْقَ سِنِّ بَعِيرِهِ، قَالَ: فَأَعْطُوهُ فَوْقَ بَعِيرِهِ، فَقَالَ، ، الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: أَوْفَيْتَنِي أَوْفَاكَ اللهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّ خَيْرَكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ قَضَاءً " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came to the service of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) to demand his camel. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Find a camel of the same age as his and bring it." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) searched but could not find a camel of the required age; every camel was older than that. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Then give him a camel of an older age." The Bedouin said, "You have paid me in full, may Allah give you in full." The Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The best among you is the one who is best in repaying debts."
