حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَفْصٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلَا تَعْجَبُونَ كَيْفَ يُصْرَفُ عَنِّي شَتْمُ قُرَيْشٍ؟ يَشْتِمُونَ مُذَمَّمًا وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، وَيَلْعَنُونَ مُذَمَّمًا، وَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ " (١)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Are you not amazed at how, in such a strange way, the abuses of the Quraysh are kept away from me? They curse and revile a certain 'Mudhammam', while my name is Muhammad (not Mudhammam)."
