حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى التَّوْأَمَةِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: جَلَسَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مِنْ أَيْنَ أَنْتَ؟ " قَالَ: بَرْبَرِيٌّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " قُمْ عَنِّي "، قَالَ: بِمِرْفَقِهِ هَكَذَا، فَلَمَّا قَامَ عَنْهُ، أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ الْإِيمَانَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ " (٢)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man was present in the gathering of the Noble Prophet (ﷺ). The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) asked him, "Where are you from?" He replied, "I am a Barbarian." The Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Get up from my presence." When he left, the Noble Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Faith will not go below the throats of these people."
