حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: " إِنَّمَا كَانَ طَعَامَنَا مَعَ نَبِيِّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ (٢) : التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ، وَاللهِ مَا كُنَّا نَرَى سَمْرَاءَكُمْ هَذِهِ، وَلَا نَدْرِي مَا هِيَ؟ وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ لِبَاسُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النِّمَارَ " يَعْنِي بُرْدَ الْأَعْرَابِ (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), our food consisted of only two black things: dates and water. By Allah, we had never seen your wheat nor did we know about it, and during the blessed era of the Prophet (ﷺ), our clothing used to be the sheets of the villagers.
