Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: On the occasion of the Night of Ascension (Mi'raj), when we reached the seventh heaven, my gaze was lifted upwards and there was thunder, lightning, and roaring clouds. Then I came upon a people whose bellies were like rooms, in which snakes and the like could be seen from outside their bellies. I asked, "O Jibreel (peace be upon him), who are these people?" He replied, "These are the usurers (those who consume interest)." Then when I returned to the lowest heaven, my gaze fell downwards and there were screams, smoke, and voices to be heard. I asked, "O Jibreel, what is this?" He replied, "These are the devils who are throwing dust into the eyes of the children of Adam so that they do not reflect on the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. If it were not so, people would see great wonders."
