حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بُرْدَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى أَنْ يُتَخَتَّمَ فِي ذِهِ، أَوْ ذِهِ الْوُسْطَى، وَالسَّبَّابَةِ " وقَالَ: جَابِرٌ يَعْنِي الْجُعَفِيَّ: " هِيَ الْوُسْطَى لَا شَكَّ فِيهَا " (٤)،
Translation
English translation
It was narrated from `Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade wearing rings on this or this - the middle finger and the index finger, Jabir - i.e., al-Ju`fi - said:
It is the middle finger, no doubt about it.
