حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: " أُمْطِرَ - أَوْ تَسَاقَطَ - عَلَى أَيُّوبَ فَرَاشٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَجَعَلَ يَلْتَقِطُ، فَأَوْحَى اللهُ (١) إِلَيْهِ: يَا أَيُّوبُ، أَفَلَمْ أُوَسِّعْ عَلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى، وَلَكِنْ لَا غِنَى بِي عَنْ فَضْلِكَ " (٢)،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Once Allah Almighty showered golden locusts upon Ayub (peace be upon him). Ayub (peace be upon him) began gathering them in his garment. Then a voice came: "O Ayub! Have We not given you enough of what is sufficient for you?" He replied: "O Lord! Who can remain independent of Your grace or mercy?"
