حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {فَاسْأَلْهُ (١) مَا بَالُ النِّسْوَةِ اللَّاتِي قَطَّعْنَ أَيْدِيَهُنَّ} [يوسف: ٥٠] ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَوْ كُنْتُ أَنَا (٢) لَأَسْرَعْتُ الْإِجَابَةَ، وَمَا ابْتَغَيْتُ الْعُذْرَ " (٣)، ،
Translation
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said in the explanation of the Quranic verse regarding those women who had cut their hands: If I had stayed in prison for as long as Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) did, and then I was offered release, I would have accepted it at that very moment and would not have sought any excuse.
